Subjectivity vs Objectivity~

Have you ever wonder what is the difference between the TWO words!? Well, again I experienced that today.. It was a vicious cycle where the grey thin line comes into the picture again.. And I am powerless to prevent it from happening.. And as the result of this, I believe that I lost some good friends..

Humans, by nature are self-centred and tend to look at ourselves as the focus point.. Everything we do is usually, more often contain an interest for ourselves.. That is where subjectivity comes in, we're using our emotions to influence our decisions.. We're looking at how we can benefit from it or get the best value out of the situation..

Objectivity, on the other hand is where you start to consider others more than yourself.. You look and plan 2-3 steps ahead.. You want to have the best interest of the community that you are in..and hence engaged in some tough calls decision to make.. Consider others's shoes!? Of course, I do understand why you want to tender and move on.. but a reason for tendering is becos you want to join the other related community.. This is so self-interest, if you wait for the FY to end and join them then of course, there is no issue point.. We're already small in numbers, yet we will do good with the numbers and support we can find.. but when you go over to the other side, have you consider what impact you can do to the image of the community!?

How am I to find a replacement in such a short notice!? Yes, this is my problem.. but look as a wider point of view.. when you cross over to the side.. what will they think of the community.. A picture speaks a thousand words.. And once it spreads it is hard to build it back.. just like in the case of reputation.. once tarnished, it is very difficult to establish again.. But..

This is not impossible.. somehow I know the matter has already gone out of my hands, and I am powerless to make a difference.. I fear n maybe the case that I might lose some good friends in the organisation.. But in the Lord, I trust.. All things work good for those who Love and trust Him.. So I am just going to trust in His timing.. Time heals.. Have faith and take courage..

I have already humbled myself and apologise yet what I get is a cold shoulder.. I did what I can do already, the rest is up to you to decide.. Everyone's has their strengths and flaws.. It is only whether you want to focus on their strengths rather than their weakness.. That is what Objectivity is all About.. the power to put aside emotions and look at the whole picture and understand where the management is coming from..

I feel I think a class on human relationship.. I hate this feeling.. honestly..

Everything has its first time~

What was it like when you run your first race in your life!? That was what I had remembered on Sunday's REAL run.. when was the first time I felt my first love for running.. hehe.. the feeling and memory was sweet.. hmm in fact, I think its juz formed part of the past..

Anyway, I was very touched by Jasmine's sacrificial love to accompany me to run the REAL run as last min a friend of mine decided not to go for it.. It was a 15km run around Changi Exhibition Centre.. We had 4km terrain run.. followed by some 9km road run.. then 0.5km beach run.. and another 1.5km road run back to the finish line.. I must really thank God for the lovely fine weather over the weekend.. Can you imagine if you run past 4km terrain in mud!? Yeah, the run was lovely n memorable as Jasmsine did her 1st run completing with a timing of 2hrs 1mins 15secs!! She's good, considering that we set a target to clear this by 2hrs 30mins.. Only 1 downside that I feel guilty that becos of the run, Jasmine actually over-exert on her ankle and resulted in an injury.. I pray that she will recover fast..  In Jesus' name, we pray for the recovery n removal of the swollen ankle!! AMEN!

Still, yeah thank God for good times, Love Him for His undying love for us and well find time to hear his voice and appreciate his creation.. Love the Sun, Love the Wind and all His people.. Praise His Holy name :)

Reflections~

Well I think I have grown, or rather age.. playing multiple sports doesnt seems to be a thing to me now.. last time I used to be able to at least play a decent game but now, when I picked up the racket to play a competitive game of badminton, I lost all my strokes.. I wanted to place the shuttle at point A but it landed at point B instead.. I guess I didnt have the cut for it.. in fact, it seems like going so for the other games too, I can play them but its more like leisure rather than competitve.. I think those days of competitions are over..

As I thought about this, I realised that sometimes it is still good to have a focus on ONE thing instead.. juz like staying focus on my running.. still feels so great to run.. Be it for leisure or competitive.. that is because this is ONE good time where I can spend time with Him, having the peace and determination to complete the run and not to let anything or anyone to pressure or disturb me.. Yeah, the feeling is great :)

When is the last time, you took time off to think about your past, your present and your future!? Singapore's lifestyle is so fast paced that sometimes we forgot to take time out to reflect the life we are going through now.. I am looking forward to my run this coming Sunday.. Pray for FINE weather, the weather hasnt been so "kind" these days..

Peace be with you, my brothers and sisters.. Agape~

An Off-in-Lieu~

Sometimes when you just need a break, you take a break.. After all, I calculated and found out that I got 32 more working days before the start of 2010!! So fast going to be another year old liao.. haha, ok the day had been rather simple, just rest at home.. did some run in the morning then.. lunch out before I head back to office only to find out that volleyball training had been cancelled.. Man, it is sad.. Anyway, must thank Jingting for her sms, still its the thought that counts.. I appreciate it..

On a sidenote, I am happy that Omnia II had released its Windows Mobile Professional 6.5.. Yeah, I am looking forward to have my handphone upgraded.. It is high time they release this update :) now need to find time to head down to Plaza Singapura to get it done.. Hopefully within the next 2-3 days..

Dun worry, Jasmine.. I have a word of encouragement for you.. 1 Peter 5:7 " Cast ALL your worry on Him, for He cares for you".. I know that your results had not been what you wanted but dun worry for God has everything in control.. Surrender your plans to Him and seek after Him.. Ask BIG and HE will give you the BIG things you asked for.. Be Bold, Be Strong for the Lord, your God is with you :D

A race preparation~

Well well.. there's so many things happened today in church.. I was rather encouraged by Aunt Mary that all of us in a way or so have our very own special giftings.. And mine she said was the gift to teach, being a fatherly-like figure and the gift of disciplinary..

When I heard of that.. I was like in awe.. haha.. I never though of being a father yet.. but somehow in me.. it seems like they're like a kid to me, in fact whenever they're mischievous or going out of hand.. I would take the special effort to discipline them n to correct them.. After all, what is our purpose to go to church if we dun find time out for Him rather than being with friends.. And so, after that I got a teacher's meeting too where we shared with our past weeks, any thanksgiving and prayer requests.. I am glad that my session teachers are attending this meeting as sometimes I only see 1-2 other fellow teachers coming together for this meeting.. I thank God for His grace and abundance in His Love... God is Good all the time, and ALL the time God is good! Amen!

Ok, thats' for the church portion.. ok somethings that had been in my heart for a while and I decide to write it down.. And that this I am preparing for the upcoming 2 races; Real Run (next Sunday) and the Singapore Marathon.. Yes yes, I had been rather gulity not training hard enough for it.. But well, there's becos I had been going for it like this is my 5th year.. So continue to pray for a good weather And a Good Run.. its like a race for God, for family and for friends..

WE will do it.. And this year I plan to do it casually.. 15 km for 2hrs 30mins and 42.195 km for 7hrs 30mins.. hehe.. this is to be achieved by walking 70% n running 30%.. I hope I got my schedule and training tempo right.. 34 more days to go!!!
